YCCC to Host USM Course in Fall Semester

WELLS- The University of Southern Maine (USM) just became more accessible to York County residents.  Beginning  in the Fall 2008 semester, York County Community College (YCCC) will serve as a satellite campus for the University by hosting, the first, of many courses, that YCCC hopes to host in the future.

Introduction to Social  Work (SWO 201) will kick off the partnership.  The course is an introduction to the profession of social work and will introduce students to the core values of social work and the code of ethics that emanate from those values.  The course is open to anyone interested in exploring social work as a profession or looking for an interesting elective to complement their chosen degree program.

This three credit course will be held on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. on YCCC’s 112 College Drive campus in Wells.  For registration information, please call 780-5617 or visit usm.maine.edu.

York County Community College, established in 1994, is one of seven community colleges in the Maine Community College System.  The college enrolls over 1,000 students in associate degrees and transfer programs and over 1,600 individuals in non-credit continuing education and professional development areas.
