A Message from YCCC President Dr. Finkelstein
A Letter from the President
I would like to thank you for your past and present support of YCCC and the YCCC Foundation. Our students have benefited greatly from the funds which have been raised in both our Annual Campaigns and in past Capital Campaigns. Your philanthropy and support of our community college students has indeed changed lives over the twenty-year history of the college.
This year, YCCC is embarking on a Capital Campaign to raise funds for a new 18,000 square foot building on our Wells Campus. Our original building was constructed to accommodate 1,100 students and YCCC’s fall 2014 student headcount was nearly 1,700.
Not only will the new building provide much-needed general instructional space, it will also provide further study space for students and a Developmental Mathematics and English Lab. Additionally, the building will house a 140-seat auditorium which will serve as an instructional space, a meeting space for businesses and civic groups and a performance theater.
York County Community College is a college “on the move.” With our growing credit courses and programs and our expanding workforce training offerings, our Senior College, our Summer Camps for school-age children, and our many other programs and services to the greater York County community, we have become the college of choice for so many of the citizens of southern Maine.
With your help, we will continue and grow our outreach to the community and broaden and deepen our credit and non-credit curriculum.
Your support of YCCC’s Capital Campaign will make a difference for our students today and to all our future students.
Barbara Finkelstein, President, York County Community College
