Tentative schedule of activities for the week:
Students will need to be somewhat flexible in case the
weather interferes with the outdoor shoeprint/tire track and forensic
anthropology exercises.
Monday
AM: Careers in forensic science, legal issues, securing
crime scene, crime scene and
laboratory
safety
PM: Sketching, photography, imaging, [practical
exercise]
Tuesday
AM: Fingerprinting (dry and wet process), level 1, 2, 3
detail, [practical exercise]
PM: Fingerprint classification and comparison,
[practical exercise - laboratory]
Wednesday
AM: Shoeprints/tire tracks and tool marks – casting,
dust lifting, comparison
PM: Shoeprints/tire tracks and tool marks –
[indoor/outdoor practical exercises]
Thursday
AM: Forensic anthropology [outdoor practical exercise]
PM: DNA evidence – recognition and collection, blood
spatter analysis
Friday
AM: Mock crime scene challenge #1
