Switching
Basics and Intermediate Routing
is the third of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Networking Associate
(CCNA) designation. The course
focuses on the following advanced IP addressing techniques:
- Variable
Length Subnet Masking (VLSM)
- Intermediate
routing protocols such as RIP v2, single-area OSPF, and EIGRP
- Command-line
interface configuration of switches
- Ethernet
switching
- Virtual
LANs (VLANs)
- Spanning
Tree Protocol (STP) and VLAN Trunking protocol (VTP)
The course
will be delivered over blended distance learning (BDL).
BDL consists of instructor led sessions using Webex over the internet
combined with self-paced student completion of an online curriculum and in-class
lab projects. It has been designed
for 70 contact hours. Approximately
15 hours will be designated to lab activities, 15 to Webex class sessions with
the remainder consisting of reading and labs completed by the student.
