Dental Assisting is a rewarding and satisfying career choice in a healthcare profession that will always be in demand.  Dental Assisting is a skill that you can apply in any location that you choose to live.  This program will give students the training and confidence necessary to become a Dental Assistant.  Classes include lecture and hands-on practical training.

Licensing requirements for Dental Assistants vary by state.  In some states, you don’t have to be licensed, only show that you’ve completed a dental assisting course or on-the-job training.  If your particular state offers a licensing option, it is to your advantage to obtain licensing as you will have a better chance of being hired over those who aren’t licensed.

The Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination offered by Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) focuses on General Chairside Assisting.  In addition to the General Chairside component, the CDA exam contains separate components covering Radiology and Infection Control.  You must pass these three components to become a Certified Dental Assistant.  YCCC offers review classes for all three components in order for students to prepare for the CDA exams.
