Course Description
This seminar
course is designed to survey
traditional areas of legal practice. The
overview is intended to provide students with a working knowledge of practice
and procedures and sufficient familiarity to complete tasks and assignments
required of a paralegal in professional employment.
The course will provide a review of the ethical and legal duties of a
paralegal. The objective of the
course is to enhance writing and critical thinking skills applicable to working
in the profession of law.

Requirements
Faculty may
provide written assignments on a weekly basis.
There will be a take home and mid-term assignment and final.
The assignments will require the drafting of memoranda or other documents
sufficient to demonstrate a familiarity with and understanding of the readings
and class discussion. Course grades
will reflect class attendance, participation, assignments, mid-term, and final.
(50% mid-term, 30% final, 20% class participation.)
