GETTING TO KNOW YORK COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The students of York County Community College truly characterize the communities of York County, Maine and beyond! They represent all ages, education levels and economic backgrounds, and come to YCCC with a diversity of interests, work experiences, personal history and lifestyles.

What our students have in common is the desire for a small college atmosphere that is affordable and close to home, and where they can prove their ability to be successful in achieving a quality education that will provide them with many opportunities. Small classes and personal connections with other students, faculty and administrators ensure that YCCC is a place where every student is accepted and valued!

Please be sure to take a look at our student handbook (pdf document).  It contains everything students need to know about campus policies, enrollment, and important dates.

Enjoy the benefits of AdvantageU – a milestone in achieving a higher education in Maine.

Advantage U is a landmark agreement between the Maine Community College System and the University of Maine System that grants graduates of our Associate in Arts, Liberal Studies Program guaranteed admission to any Maine University at junior standing.  Advantage U also provides participating students with early advising a streamlined transfer process with no application fee and early course registration benefits to continuing University students.

Transfer Articulation Agreements with other colleges.

At YCCC we have articulation agreements with other colleges that allow our students to enjoy an affordable two years of college at YCCC while working towards a four-year college experience.  Our Associate Degree Programs have transfer agreements with Maine Colleges outside of the University of Maine System – this helps students prepare for a four-year degree program by beginning their studies at YCCC and transferring into a four-year program based on their major of study.  YCCC has articulation agreements with other Maine Universities & Colleges, such as the University of Southern Maine, the University of New England, Husson College, St. Joseph’s College.  We also have agreements with Schools beyond the Maine border depending on your major, such as Johnson & Wales, Paul Smith’s College, Southern Illinois University – so many opportunities to achieve that four-year degree!

Too busy to explore four-year colleges?  Not a problem – they come calling at YCCC!

Visiting four-year colleges set up shop at YCCC on a regular basis to recruit our graduates for enrollment into their four-year degree programs.  You will have the opportunity to discuss all aspects of admissions, financial aid and campus life with the representatives of many Universities and Colleges – without ever having to leave the YCCC Campus!
