As a partner in the holistic learning environment at York County Community College, the mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to support students’ successful achievement of their educational goals.  This mission is accomplished by facilitating all aspects of the enrollment process, offering programs and services, and encouraging life-long learning.

The mission statements of the programs and departments within the Division:

The mission of the Admissions Office is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment for prospective students who seek information and acceptance into our high quality, affordable and accessible educational programs.

Working in collaboration with faculty and staff, the Beacon Project assists at-risk students to achieve success and remain in College by providing referral to academic and other relevant support services.

The mission of Career and Transfer Services is to serve and empower students to identify and achieve their career/life and educational goals.  Services are designed to develop professional skills, promote life-long learning, self-understanding, critical and creative thinking skills.

The mission of the Dual Enrollment Program is to inspire and prepare students to pursue higher education and career opportunities while still in high school through enrollment in an early college experience.

Enrollment Services’ mission is to facilitate all aspects of the enrollment and registration processes, maintain the integrity of students’ academic records, and provide support for academic advising while monitoring and adhering to all policies and procedures of the College and the Maine Community College System.

The Financial Aid Office educates, assists, and advises students and their families in the financial aid process, with the ultimate goals of providing the best possible individual awards, quality customer service, and effective financial planning. The office coordinates the administration of financial aid programs, ensuring equity and consistency in the awarding of funds, and timeliness in the delivery of funds.

The mission of Student Activities is to encourage and assist in the development of positive social, cultural, intellectual, leadership and recreational programs and activities which are designed to complement the academic program and enhance the overall learning experience of students.

In a meaningful partnership with faculty and staff, YCCC provides qualified students with disabilities equal access to all opportunities for learning.

The Office for Student Disability Services will provide leadership in fulfilling the college’s responsibility to students with disabilities.
