The purpose of the Student Senate is to serve the general student body of YCCC:

  • by providing social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs and activities to expand the scope of the college experience
  • by informing students about issues for their consideration
  • by regulating and governing all student organizations on campus
  • by responding to the needs and concerns of students
  • by providing the most effective uses of students' money and effort
  • by serving as a link between the students, faculty and administration by encouraging student participation and input
