This little cat arrived at AWS on November 30th and was a dirty,
flea-filled, frightened young thing. It was estimated that he
was about 14 weeks old. He had a severe respiratory infection so was
immediately sent to foster care rather than infecting other shelter
inhabitants.
He would not leave the box for a couple of
days, but soon cleaned up and learned that the world was safe.
Still preferring a box or private spot, he became a bit more comfortable
with human interaction each day.
Within two weeks he was flea-free, his cold
was getting a bit better, and he had learned that there were spots in
the house that were more comfortable than the boxes.
He favored this pillow and took this as his
new sleeping spot. It wasn't long before he was seen sprawled out
in most any position.
And now he sleeps like a baby - with no
fears at all! He sleeps well
since his hearing is very poor - not much bothers him! When not
sleeping, he plays a lot...chasing just about anything that moves,
racing across the kitchen floor onto paper bags for the long slide, and
rolling around with his stuffed animals.
