I recently returned from my Fulbright
Scholar journey to Cambodia. This page offers some scholarly and
personal highlights of my Fulbright
Experience'
I was awarded a Fulbright Scholar
grant for lecturing and research in Cambodia for eight months beginning in
January of 2004. Part of my work with the Fulbright program
was to train university teachers in research methods and to advise the Psychology Department at the Royal University of Phnom
Penh. The other part of my work in Cambodia was my own research
program on the motivations for volunteerism.
Lara Skinner at the
Journal Tribune wrote an article
on Sept 24th about my research plans.
The primary objective of my "lecturing" in Cambodia was to
build research capacity by developing and teaching a training workshop
on Qualitative Research Methods. The Royal University of Phnom
Penh asked specifically for me to create a set of training materials
that could be published in both English and Khmer as well. A
description of the workshop and copies of the training materials are
available at the links below.
