ANNUAL
JOB DESCRIPTION REVIEW |

| This
procedure applies to MSEA Support Staff, MSEA Supervisors, & MEA
Administrators.
|
| |
|
|
Annually, prior to
the evaluation of each employee, the supervisor will initiate an
analysis of the position job description.
If the review indicates a need for change in job description and
a subsequent change in job classification, with the approval of the
college President, the request for the change in job classification will
be forwarded to the MCCS Human Resources Director for processing.

| |
|
| 1. 45-31 days prior to evaluation |
| |
a. The supervisor reviews
the job description of the staff member. |
| |
b. The supervisor and the
staff member review the job description together to ascertain changes,
if any.
|
| |
c. If the supervisor is
not a divisional manager, he/she will discuss it with the division
manager for approval. |
| |
d. The
supervisor and/or the division manager and the Director of Finance/HR
review the job description to determine if a job reclassification and/or
description change needs to be made.
|
| |
|
| 2. 30 days prior to evaluation |
| |
a. If
substantial changes in the actual work duties of the staff member and
the job description for the position are
found, the supervisor develops the appropriate paperwork and
recommends the change to the division manager on or before 30 days prior
to the annual evaluation.

b. If
substantial changes in the actual work duties of the staff member and
the job description are not found,
the supervisor sends a memo signed by the supervisor and the staff
member to the division manager on or before 30 days prior to the annual
evaluation indicating that the current job description is accurate. |

c. The
division manager will notify the Director of Finance/HR of the status of
the analysis on or before 25 days prior to the annual evaluation.

d. The
Director of Finance/HR will forward all agreed upon changes to the
college President and will notify the President of all analyses in which
there is not change.
|
| |
|
| 3. 20 days prior to the evaluation |
| |
Prior to 20 days
before the evaluation, the college President will approve or deny the
recommendation for the reclassification and send it to the college HR
office for processing to the system level.
(The system process will differ somewhat by contract).

|
| 4. Evaluation Deadline |
| |
By the evaluation
deadline of the staff member, the process for change in classification
should be completed so that the staff member will receive any monetary
increase in a timely manner. |
