| MSEA Support Staff and Supervisory
Staff
|

Full-time support
staff and supervisory staff serve an initial probationary period of six
months. At the end of this
period, the employee may be granted permanent status or probation could
be extended for a period of up to three additional months.
The probationary period for part-time staff is 1,040 compensated
hours, exclusive of overtime hours.
A three-month probationary period applies for staff promotions.

Prior to the date
that the employee's initial probation period ends, the Human Resources
Department (HR) will forward the State of Maine Performance Management
form (see FORMS section) to the employee's supervisor/division manager.
The supervisor/division manager will complete the form, review
with the employee and return to HR no later than the expiration date of
the employee's initial probation period.
The form will be kept in the employee's personnel file.

In the event that the
employee's initial probation period was extended, HR will send this form
again to the supervisor/division manager at the end of the extended
initial probation period. |

| MEA Faculty
serve a probationary period of up to three years, and are reviewed
bi-annually.
|
| |
|
|
MEA Administrators
serve a probationary period of up to two years, and are reviewed
bi-annually. |
