RETIREMENT

Upon employment, all regular employees in the MEA Faculty and Administrator bargaining units must choose between two retirement options, in lieu of social security; Maine State Retirement System (MSRS) or Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA CREF). 

Employees covered by the MSEA contract automatically become members of the Maine State Retirement System. 

For either retirement plan, the employee share toward retirement is paid by payroll deduction and York County Community College is assessed its share each payroll.
