TUITION
REIMBURSEMENT POLICY AND REQUEST FORM |

| 1.
Courses taken at YCCC |
| |
1.1
Employees of YCCC and their immediate family members can take
courses at YCCC tuition free on a space-available basis if the paying
enrollment for the course is sufficient to offer it. The college does not
pay for books, supplies and/or equipment required by the courses. (Courses
can also be taken tuition free at other Maine Technical Colleges based
on the regulations of the respective institution).

1.2
Employees of YCCC taking YCCC courses must have their work
schedule approved by the appropriate Dean, Director or Vice President
prior to enrolling in the course(s) if it impacts the employee’s
current work schedule.

| 2.
Courses leading to a degree at a college or university other
than YCCC
|
| |
2.1
Full-time Employees of YCCC can be reimbursed for tuition for
undergraduate and graduate courses provided:

| |
2.1.1. The course(s)
leads to a degree pre-approved by the President’s Council |
| |
2.1.2. There are funds
available in the current fiscal year budget |
| |
2.1.3. The
regulations within the appropriate collective bargaining
agreement allow for it
|
| |
2.1.4. The employee
provides proof of successful completion of such course or conference
prior to reimbursement
|
| |
2.2
The employee will be reimbursed for either the actual tuition
costs for the course(s) taken or the tuition charged by the University of Maine System for
a similar course, whichever is less. |

2.3.
A full-time employee can be reimbursed for up to two (2)
courses or up to a
maximum dollar amount as specified in their Bargaining Unit Contract.

| 3.
College credit courses taken at a college/university other
than YCCC |
| |
3.1.
Courses that do not lead to a degree for full-time and/or
part-time employees can be reimbursed at the discretion of the
President’s Council. |

3.2.
Such courses must be submitted to and approved by the President’s
Council prior to reimbursement. |
