Information Systems Support Specialist II
York County Community College, established is 1994, is a regionally accredited institution that offers associate degrees and certificate programs. The college also offers a number of online courses and provides non-credit courses and training to business and industry.
The College is looking for an Information Systems Support Specialist II to manage enterprise applications and core databases, to provide network and PC support to the internal college community. This position requires experience of database administration and management, application management and support, and basic network administration and helpdesk skills. In addition to responsibilities performed by an Information System Support Specialist II, an employee in this classification is responsible for; Performing advanced trouble-shooting and vendor technical liaison functions. Designing and developing complicated application programs. Assisting in developing and implementing data processing plans. Coordinating user-training programs, and supervision over other technical personnel. The successful applicant will work closely with students, staff and faculty and therefore must have a customer service focus and be able to effectively communicate in a friendly manner. This position is an ideal opportunity for progression to a DBA role.
Three (3) years experience as an Information System Support Technician with a minimum or one (1) year of database administration and a Bachelors degree –OR- a five (5) years combination of education, training, and experience comprised of an Associate’s degree in Data Processing, Computer Science, or a directly related field and a minimum of two (2) years experience administering a LAN and database systems.
