York High School (YHS) juniors and seniors who are taking a YCCC Introduction to Business course recently got caught in a “Shark Tank!”

Based on the TV show Shark Tank, Stephanie Cleary, a Business & Technology Teacher at YHC and Adjunct Instructor at YCCC lead the project where student entrepreneurs had to create a business plan and present their ideas to a panel of potential investors or ‘sharks.’ The volunteer ‘sharks’ were Mike Cleary – YHS Social Studies Teacher, Chuck Chadbourn – YHS Alternative Education Teacher, Traci Avery-Pardoe – YHS Student Services Secretary, Steve Casey – Retired Lawyer and Stephen Paulone – YCCC Business Department Chair.

Student projects were extremely creative and included a Fashion Charge Bracelet, a 5 Hole Hockey Rebounder, and Lil’ Runner Youth Tracker.  The ‘sharks’ provided all of the students with feedback, constructive criticism, and of course, advice on how they might make their ideas even better.
