Every student formally accepted in a program at YCCC is assigned a
member of the faculty as an academic advisor. The college realizes the
importance of good advising and considers advising as an essential part of
the academic experience.
Your advisor can help you with:
Choosing courses each semester and requirements for your major
Making good choices when considering electives
Exploring internship possibilities
Considering study abroad opportunities
Previewing possible career options in your major area
Providing information about alumni from your program and where they
are employed
Sharing initial information about transferring to a four year
institution
Referring you to other resources to help you problem solve
We encourage you to contact your advisor via email and to attend the
New Student Orientation program to connect with your advisor and other
students in your program.
Faculty will be back on campus just prior to the semester start. Please
email your advisor to introduce yourself and ask any questions that you
might have before classes start. Take advantage of this resource! Get to
know your advisor!
