YCCC’s American Studies Lecture Series presents “A Storm of Witchcraft – The Salem Trials and the American Experience” on November 7, 2018 at 2:30pm in the YCCC Hannaford Lecture Hall, Wells Campus.

In 1692 more than 150 people were accused of witchcraft, and 25 would die in the Salem witch trials. The alleged leader was Wells’s minister, George Burroughs, arrested in Wells, Maine and returned in chains to Salem. Dr. Emerson “Tad” Baker discusses his recent book, setting the Salem Witch Trials in the broader context of American history, from the 17th century to the present.
