YCCC’s dramatic growth over its 20-year history and increasing enrollment has greatly contributed to the shared goal of strengthening York County’s economic vitality and development of a skilled workforce. However, YCCC has also expanded dramatically beyond its capacity.
Each year YCCC is committed to offer its students the best and most affordable higher education possible by developing new programs, upgrading equipment, and maintaining a quality student-to-faculty ratio of 15 to 1. The supportive academic community enabled by this low student-to-faculty ratio is one of the strengths YCCC is frequently credited and helps students feel nurtured and empowered to succeed.
The current facility, designed to house 1,100 students, is currently operating at over 140% of intended capacity. In order for YCCC to continue its history of providing a quality education through innovative programming and remain true to its goal of a low student-to-faculty ratio, it must expand.
