SARA – National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. YCCC is approved by the state of Maine to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by colleges based in another state.
Maine’s community colleges offer one of the best educational values around, making YCCC one of the most affordable higher education options in New England.
2019 – 2020 Rates
- Tuition is $94 per credit hour for in-state students. Most courses are 3 credits or $282.00
- $188 per credit for out-of-state students.
- Residents of other New England states may be eligible to attend YCCC at reduced out-of-state tuition rates through the Tuition Break program, sponsored by the New England Board of Higher Education. Students who qualify for this program may attend YCCC for 150 percent of the in-state tuition rate.
- Senior Citizens (65+) who register for certain courses, may be eligible for a tuition waiver for up to six credit hours per semester; and waiver of tuition for up to 23 credit hours per person. The average student loan debt YCCC graduates who complete college is $8,500.00. Approximately 25% of our students borrow for college, The average monthly loan payment for our student borrowers currently in repayment is $88.00 a month.
