These activities provide students with the opportunity to make new friends, explore new interests, develop leadership skills, and have some fun. Student Senate

Student Senate is the official student voice on campus and is a governing body of all student activities focuses on the interests on the entire student community at York County Community College. Student Senate plans activities on and off-campus, service projects, events and so much more. The Senate is comprised of students elected by ballot and have the responsibility for allocating funds received from the student activities fee’s collected. Students can become a voting senator after attending two meetings, this gives them the chance to vote on decisions being made for the student body.

Psychology  Club

This club unites students interested in Psychology to learn about careers in this field, contribute to the community and conduct various psychology – related experiments. Performing random acts of kindness is something that this club strives with. Meeting weekly throughout the semester this club interacts with organizations off campus to learn more about how they can make an impact on others while studying in that field.

Y3C Veterinary Club

This club promotes animal health and wellness to students in the Vet Tech field here at YCCC. They meeting monthly to participate in community involvement and community education with area veterinary technicians. They are affiliated with the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America-Student chapter. This club utilizes in creating shadowing and mentorship opportunities for students. The club meets monthly for study groups, guest speakers and field trips to farms and barns within the State of Maine.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society-Chapter of Beta Lambaa Rho

This club focuses on recognizing academic achievement and is dedicated to serving the York County Community College community through:

  • Scholarship: We educate chapter members, the student body and community, and other chapters about important issues.
  • Leadership: Encourage members to assume leadership roles in the college and community.
  • Service: Initiate activities in service to the college and community.
  • Fellowship: Offer a balance of social and scholarly events.

Sustainability Station Club (Brains Need Food) 

The purpose of this club is to maintain a food and necessity hub on campus. Open to students, faculty and staff who are battling food insecurity. The goal of the club is to help combat the statistics of hunger insecurity by opening a food pantry on site. The club continues to educate the college community on food insecurities and possible ways to defeat it. The YCCC Community can utilize the pantry during school hours and donations are accepted at any time.

Dungeons & Dragons Club 

YCCC’s Dungeons & Dragons club aims to introduce the role-playing game dungeons and dragons to the student body in a fun and safe environment role-playing games are cooperative teamwork building and a great stress reliever so this club will give student an out. This club will focus on building relationships and fostering community by opening up the tournaments to the campus community and meeting new.

Co-Ed Intramural Volleyball

Coed Intramural Volleyball is available to all skill levels and is noncompetitive played once a week. It’s open to all YCCC Students. If you enjoy playing volleyball and want to meet new people and have fun this is your activity. The goal is to promote an active lifestyle, student involvement, and safe environment.
