YCCC Student Elected as Regional VP of PTK Honor Society

YCCC is pleased to announce that Beth Carroll, a YCCC student from Berwick, ME was recently elected to the position of Northern Vice President for the New England Region of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society.  Carroll currently serves at the President of YCCC’s Beta Lambda Rho Chapter.  Carroll has been actively involving with PTK at YCCC having served as both Treasurer and Vice President while she completes her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.

“It’s the fellowship and teamwork that continue to inspire me and keep me engaged.” said Carroll.  “I am excited to begin my year of service as Northern Vice President and my future plan is to join New England Region Alumni Association when I graduate in Spring 2019.  I am PTK.”

The mission of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students, and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming. Today, Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education and is the official honor society for two-year colleges.

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society membership requirements are as follows:

  • Completion of at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree
  • Achievement and maintenance of a cumulative grade point average of 3.5
  • Acceptance of membership invitation to the chapter, region, and international chapters
