Chris Burbank joined the York County Community College (YCCC) team In November of 2021 as the Directory of Campus Safety.  Chris brought to that role of over 25+ years of experience in law enforcement, criminal investigations, security management and public safety. 

Chris has recently taken on a new role at the College as the Director of Strategic Partnership and Initiatives. In this role Chris serves as a confidant and key strategic partner to President Fischer overseeing the college’s initiatives and partnerships while working closely with the senior leadership team, and the College community.

“YCCC’s success, now and in the future, depends on our ability to be innovative and continuously improve. The Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships position will focus on helping the College achieve both.” said YCCC President Michael Fischer “In the short time that Chris has been with us, he has demonstrated his ability to bring people together and fostered a culture of respect, appreciation, and curiosity. Most of all, he has championed the role that YCCC plays in our community and with our students.”

Chris retired in October 2021 from the South Berwick Maine Police Department where he served as a Lieutenant Executive Officer.  He holds a BA from Southern University of New Hampshire, an AS from Southern Maine University, and is a graduate of Executive Management Studies at the FBI National Academy – 254th Session in Quantico, Virginia.
