The YCCC Workforce Department’s mission is to reimagine the educational experience through workforce development training so that it works better for everyone. We’re committed to working in partnership with our communities and in lockstep with our students to design the most relevant, flexible, and life-enhancing experience possible. We aim to be a game-changer for our students, an economic driver for the companies we serve, and a growth engine for our community. Ultimately, we succeed when our students succeed because they have the life skills necessary to improve their quality of life and contribute to the vitality of our community.
YCCC FREE training programs are generously funded through a Harold Alfond Grant and the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan to provide customized workforce training grants to Maine residents, with delivery through YCCC and Maine’s other community colleges.

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician – Now Accepting Applications

This training program is offered in partnership with Southern Maine Community College and is designed to give students, through lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences, the knowledge, and skills needed to provide advanced emergency medical care and transportation for patients who access the emergency medical system. New Cook Bootcamp – Now Accepting Applications

The New Cook Bootcamp is a 4-day accelerated training that will get you ready for a fast-paced career as a line cook. The training includes ServSafe Food Handler Certification as well as an overview of essential skills you will need as you begin your career. Know the basics of kitchen safety in the handling of equipment and moving about the kitchen. Students will learn to: identify and execute the basic precision cuts; make a stock; prep vegetables for service; make a French omelet and other egg dishes; prepare the mother
sauces and variants; execute the basic cooking methods: Sauté, Grill, Roast, Poach, Braise/Stew; understand the liaison method of thickening; and understand the basics and have limited hands-on experience in prepping proteins: Beef, Pork and Lamb, Poultry, Seafood. CLICK HERE FMI

Remote Work Essentials for Professionals – Now Accepting Applications

Remote Work Essentials for Professionals training gives learners the tools to be effective, healthy, and productive remote and hybrid employees. This fully online course is self-paced and takes approximately 10 hours to complete. It covers the essential tools to maintain health and wellness, assess your readiness for remote employment, communication, teamwork and using remote tools such as video conferencing, Sharepoint, Slack, and other communication tools. ServSafe Manager Certification – Now Accepting Applications

This all-expense paid training prepares student to take the ServSafe certification exam for managers. Topics covered include: The Importance of Food Safety, Good Personal Hygiene, Time and Temperature Control, Preventing Cross-Contamination, Cleaning and Sanitizing, Safe Food Preparation, Receiving and Storing Food, Methods of Thawing, Cooking, Cooling and Reheating Food, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), Food Safety Regulations, and more. CDL-A Training

In partnership with Northern Maine Community College, York County Community College will be offering training for the Commercial Driver’s Class-A License. The Commercial Driving Academy is a State of Maine licensed tractor-trailer driving school. This course is designed to train you to become a professional truck driver. You will learn exactly what it takes to be a responsible driver and how to handle a tractor and trailer safely and efficiently. CNC Machining Academy

This all-expense paid 14-week accelerated program will provide you with the skills needed to enter a high-demand career as a CNC Machine Operator The CNC Machining Academy is broken down into two modules containing: Machine Shop Fundamentals, Blueprint Reading, and Principles of CNC. Students who successfully complete the program will receive their OSHA 10 Certification, HAAS Mill and Lathe Certification, and receive nine college credits upon matriculation to YCCC. Dental Assisting

Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary

The Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary training program prepares Certified Dental Assistants or Registered Dental Hygienists to become more valuable team members in their office by being competent and confident in a full range of reversible procedures as prescribed by the Statutes of the State of Maine under Direct Supervision. Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course prepares the student to enter the realm of emergency medical services (EMS). The EMT course is a necessity for personnel that wishes to work on an ambulance, but also benefits firefighters, police officers, industrial safety personnel, and other healthcare professions. The EMT course provides the student with the knowledge to provide basic life support (BLS) to patients in cardiac arrest, experiencing medical emergencies, and those with traumatic injuries. Upon successful course completion, students are eligible to take the National Registry of EMT’s certification examinations.CLICK HERE FMI

Medical Assistant Apprenticeship

This all-expense paid, 9-month accelerated program will provide you with paid, on-the-job training and mastery of Medical Assisting skills learned in the classroom at YCCC.. CLICK HERE FMI

Pharmacy Technician

This all-expense paid, 23-week accelerated program will provide you with the skills you need to enter a high-demand career as a Pharmacy Technician. The training is designed to assist students in preparing for the pharmacy technician certification examination CLICK HERE FMI

Phlebotomist Certification Training

Phlebotomy Technician Certification training is a hybrid of online learning and in-person labs. Labs will also be available for students to improve their proficiency, allowing time for them to practice live sticks, as needed. Topics covered in the Phlebotomy training include; Healthcare Setting and Quality Assurance; Infection Control; Safety; Medical Terminology; Anatomy Review; Circulatory System; Equipment and Procedures; Considerations and Capillary Punctures; Special Collections; Computers; Non-Blood Tests; Arterial Punctures; NHA Phlebotomy Exam Review.Upon successful completion of the training, students can sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam.CLICK HERE FMI

Precision Machining Training Package

Are you ready to advance your skillset in the manufacturing industry? Here is your chance in a flexible, self-paced learning environment. Students can choose one or more of the following offerings: Computer Numeric, Control Mill G&M Code Basic, Manual Milling and Holemaking and Intro to Tooling. Welding

This all-expense paid, 10-week accelerated training will provide you with 60-hours of training in preparation for the American Welding Society certification exam in select structural and pipe, to include: Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
